Die afro-kolumbianische Musikgruppe Choibá bringt frischen Wind in die Weltmusikszene. Mit Wurzeln an der kolumbianischen Pazifikküste und einem traditionellen Chirimía-Ensemble verkörpert die Band den kraftvollen Spirit eines reichen musikalischen Erbes – neu interpretiert für die globale Bühne.
Choibá vereint traditionelle Rhythmen wie Currulao, Abozáo, Tamborito, Pasillo, Agua Bajo, Son Chocoano, Danzón, Bunde und Polka mit einer mitreißenden Bühnenenergie. Ihre Musik ist pure Lebensfreude: Tanz, Rumba, Euphorie und kulturelle Tiefe in einem explosiven Mix.

Choibá es una agrupación de chirimía chocoana contemporánea, somos el nuevo
sonido de la música del pacífico colombiano proyectados para exponer la música afro
proveniente del pacífico norte en el mundo. Nuestra euforia, alegría y cultura, son el
reflejo de la variedad de ritmos y aires musicales que traemos: Currulao, abozáo, tam-
borito, pasillo, agua bajo, son chocoano, danzón, bunde, polka, entre otros.
Venimos de los afluentes del rio Atrato, de territorios afectados pero traemos con
nosotros toda la sabrosura, la arrechera, el yenyeré y el remeneo pa` poné a gozá al
que sea.

format called chirimía, we are the new sound of colombian folklore and we are ready to
